3rd Annual Meeting 2015

On February 5th the researchers of the DO-HEALTH study met to celebrate the 2158 DO-HEALTH seniors enrolled into the DO-HEALTH trial!

A big thank you to all DO-HEALTH seniors who are so excited about been part of DO-HEALTH and contribute so much to our knowledge about good health at higher age!

About the 3rd DO-HEALTH Annual Meeting

Dr. Daniel Grob, Chief of University Clinic for Acute Geriatric Care at the Waid City Hospital, opened the meeting as the host of the third Annual Meeting.

The Dean of Medicine at the University of Zurich, Prof. Klaus Grätz, welcomed the DO-HEALTH researchers at the University of Zurich and Coordinating Site of DO-HEALTH. He congratulated the recruitment site investigators and their teams to their success in reaching their recruitment target.

The Dean of Medicine gave a special welcome to the three invited speakers:  Prof. Bess Dawson-Hughes from Tufts University Boston, Prof. John Kanis, President of the International Osteoporosis Foundation, and Prof. John E. Orav, Professor of Biostatistics at Harvard School of Public Health and Head Biostatistician DO-HEALTH (see pictures below).

Prof. Heike A. Bischoff-Ferrari, Coordinator of DO-HEALTH and Chair Dept. of Geriatrics and Aging Research at the University of Zurich and University Hospital of Zurich, followed with her personal welcome to all researchers of DO-HEALTH.  She gave a big thank you to the hard working recruitment teams in Basel, Geneva, Innsbruck, Berlin, Toulouse, Coimbra and Zurich.  She also pointed out that the 3rd Annual meeting aims to celebrate the 2158 DO-HEALTH seniors, who are the heart of DO-HEALTH. “We thank the participants of DO-HEALTH, and are very much looking forward to welcoming all of them to the 12, 24, and 36 months follow-up visit with their study teams. This is the next important step of DO-HEALTH”.

Prof. Reto W. Kressig, principal investigator of the DO-HEALTH site at the University of Basel and Chair of Geriatrics at the University of Basel, reported that in Basel 253 seniors participate in DO-HEALTH
