Prof. Dr. Norbert Suhm ‘s expertise is Orthogeriatrics, both from a clinical and a research perspective. His Clinical background includes traumatology, orthopaedic surgery and emergency medicine. In 2003 he was appointed head of AO Development Institut (AO Center Davos) promoting a focus in fracture fixation of osteoporotic bone. From 2005 until 2011 he served as member of the core team of AO’s Clinical Priority Program „Fracture Fixation in Osteoporotic Bone“. He built together with Prof. Dr. Reto Kressing the Geriatric Fracture Center at Basel University Hospital, which serves as international reference Center since 2007. Prof. Dr. Norbert Suhm is founding member of the International Geriatric Fracture Society, and member of national Trauma and Orthopaedic societies (DGU, SGOT) and serves as the Chairman of the Davos’ and international AO Courses on Geriatric fracture care.
